Favorite Salvadoran Food of the Month:
FRESCO DE COCO: Made from coconut milk and sold around markets and on buses, frescos are juice concoctions that are sold ice cold and filled with delicious sugar. You can get just coconut milk, but the fresco with sugar is a little more satisfying for me. Aaaand, aside from the sugar I can write this off as healthy, because coconut milk is filled with amazing antioxidants and vitamins that are great for colds and when it is disastrously hot outside.
They are also sold in plastic bags, which are a surprisingly easy and economical way to sell drinks. Although it sucks if you want to save some for later.
